Michael Cohen is a Director on the Asset-Based Finance team, focused on financing and capital markets. Based in New York, he joined the firm in 2026.
Prior to joining Värde, Michael led Capital Markets at Mercury Financial and, following its acquisition, at Atlanticus Holdings Corp. Before that, he served as an Assistant Treasurer leading Capital Markets at OneMain Financial. Michael began his career in the Structured Finance Advisory Group at EY.
Michael holds a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park and is a CPA.
