John Batterman

John Batterman is a Director on the Real Estate team, focused on U.S. investments. Based in Minneapolis, he joined the firm in 2020. At Värde, John has invested across a variety of product types including real estate assets, corporate private credit, structured products and high yield bonds.

Prior to Värde, John worked in real estate private equity at Founders Properties in Minneapolis where he focused on office, industrial and multifamily property types, performing acquisition, development and asset management responsibilities. Prior to joining Founders, John worked at US Bank as an underwriter of senior loans across all commercial and residential property types.

John earned a B.B.A. in Finance and Investment Banking with a concentration in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
